Stephen served as the 102nd President of the National Communication Association (NCA) and founder of NCA’s Task Force on Fostering International Collaborations in the Age of Globalization. In addition, he’s co-editor of Imagining China: Rhetorics of Nationalism in the Age of Globalization, published essays on U.S.-China relations in leading Communication journals, lectured widely on U.S. foreign policy, led social justice advocacy workshops across the U.S., an award-winning teacher, and his work has been featured on MSNBC; aired on over 100 different radio stations throughout America and China, and published in outlets such as Slate, Salon, and In These Times.
